Special Editions：Mosler MT900 GTR XX Sales Begin

The 2009 Mosler MT900 GTR XX has finally gone on sale in Europe. The company's 20th anniversary car passed Euro4 emissions tests, as well as quality checks performed by TUV Rheinland. Once the official word was handed down on both crash testing and electro magnetic compatibility testing, European and UAE sales were approved.


Weighing in at 2450 pounds (1111 kg), the car gets its power from a Corvette LS7 engine. When it was announced, the company had said they wanted to reduce the weight further with carbon Recaros, KW suspension, and MOVIT ceramic brakes in addition to the use of composite carbon fiber and Kevlar. In a press release, the company says that the result is a car that "allows the driver to brake deeper, carry higher speeds into and through the corners, and accelerate harder." Sounds good.

Renault Announced Laguna Coupe Black Edition

As it did with the sedan and estate versions, Renault unveiled today the Laguna Coupe Black Edition for the version powered by the turbodiesel dCi 150 engine capable to deliver 150 hp.


The loaded edition includes mainly cosmetic upgrades. Customers have a chooice of three metallic paints, including Pearlescent Black, Cassiopee Grey and Platine Grey. You will also notice exterior upgrades, like the 17-inch Talisman aluminum alloys, and twin chrome exhaust pipes. Bi-Xenon adaptive lighting is included, as well as the hands-free Renault Card automatic door lock/unlock and engine start-up system. Once inside, driver and passengers are taken care of by the six airbags, while being kept comfortable thanks to the air quality sensing dual-zone climate control. A 140W 3D sound system, built by Arkamys, includes Bluetooth, CD, MP3, and an audio connection box. The driver also gets the benefit of rear parking sensors, and a speed limiting cruise control.


At €29,500 for the Renault Laguna Coupe Black Edition, the company claims customers will get an overall saving of €4,250. However, this does still seem a bit pricey to us. Try negotiating the price down when you visit the dealership. The vehicle will be available for order in France beginning later this month.

Autoblog stops at the Symbolic Motors Annual Spring Event '09

Symbolic Motors just held their Annual Spring Event to showcase all the new models from the high-end manufacturers they represent in their San Diego dealerships. The latest and greatest from Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Lotus and Spyker were on display, along with some of the restoration projects the firm is carrying out in their Sorrento Valley facilities. Just for good measure, they also invited a few of their friends to bring along their own favorite wheels.


That meant there was a Ferrari Enzo, a Pratt & Miller C6RS Corvette, a couple of Miuras, a McLaren F1 GTR, a Porsche 962, an ex-Mario Andretti racer, two Bugatti Veyrons, a Koenigsegg CCX, a Lamborghini Reventon, a Blastolene special, and the sixth and final Ferrari Daytona prototype, to name but a few outstanding examples. In addition to the incredible cars on display, Symbolic threw open the doors to their shop and made staff available to answer questions. If that wasn't enough, there was free food and live music, as well as raffles throughout the day. GM's releasing the Jake-festooned GT1 Commemorative Edition Corvette because, well, because the world needs more value-added special editions. A closer look at Chevy's painted-up version of a Z06 celebrating C6.R racing domination.


GM does have a lot to celebrate in its class-dominating race program and the C6 is a pretty fabulous car despite what Corvette detractors might say. The Z06? Even more so. But painting one up in black and yellow and calling it a special edition still feels a might bit silly even with what the Corvette team views as added value componentry. But, since inception Corvette has utterly dominated it's GTS class (due in part to class emptiness) and this edition is designed to pay homage to those rip-snorting race cars.

Porsche will show a very limited edition newly facelifted Porsche 911 (997) 4S of AutoRAI 2009 in the Netherlands 60 years to celebrate the first birthday of imports in the world, Porsche, Porsche Import Pang. Geneva Motor Show: Pagani Zonda F Cinque

Pagani will bring a one-off Pagani Zonda F Cinque to the Geneva Auto Salon next week. The Zonda F Cinque is a teaser for the upcoming Pagani Zonda Cinque that is based on the new Pagani Zonda R that will also make it’s appearance in Geneva. We had a unique peak at the limited edition Zonda F Cinque at the Pagani factory earlier this month.


The Pagani Zonda F Cinque is very different to the Zonda Cinque of which artist impressions were released last year. The Zonda Cinque is based on the new Zonda R and shares only 10% of it’s components with the Zonda F. It will only be build in a very limited production of just 5 cars which are all already sold. Production of the first Zonda Cinque has not yet begun.


To bridge the 1 year required for the Zonda Cinque to be build, Pagani build a Zonda F in Cinque livery. It looks pretty much like the artist impressions of the Cinque with again the major difference that this Cinque is based on the Zonda F instead of the Zonda R.


Therefor it lacks a couple aerodynamic features found on the Zonda R and Cinque impressions including the hood scoop and new rear diffuser. One of the highlights of the Zonda F Cinque are the black wheels and tyres that feature a red line along the edge of the tyre and the unique paintjob. This will definitely be one of the most amazing Zonda F’s to date and something to look forward to in Geneva.

Daimler has announced that it will debut the special edition smart fortwo edition limited three at the Geneva auto show next week. The smart fortwo edition limited three features a spring design and mhd technology as standard. The limited edition comes with a green metallic paintwork, 15 inch alloy wheels and special aluminum-effect limited three logos.


The limited three starts with special paint. This time around, it's a handsome metallic melon green, accented by aluminum finished "limited three" badges and staggered-width fifteen-inch wheels. The limited three is available as a coupe or a cabriolet.


The smart fortwo edition limited three price starts at 15,470 Euros as a coupe and at 18,510 Euros as a cabrio.

Subaru has released a new special edition on the British market - the Subaru Justy 1.0 Twin Cam Special Edition. The Subaru Justy 1.0 Twin Cam will be limited to 100 units and aims at motorists who want to downsize but not down-spec.

The Subaru Justy 1.0 Twin Cam will come in two colors: 50 units in Black Mica and 50 in Shining Red. The extra equipment brought by the Subaru Justy 1.0 Twin Cam includes a rear roof spoiler, a twin exhaust system, "viper stripes" and side decals. The interior of the Subaru Justy 1.0 Twin Cam special edition features a leather and alloy gear knob and rear privacy glass.

The Catalan company ad Tramontana is called the answer to that question the Tramontana 'R'.

Eighteen months ago we had a world first by being the first behind the wheel of the Formula 1-like Tramontana graduate. Mercedes-Benz G-Class EDITION30 Commemorates 30th Anniversary

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class is 30 years old.

The first is the EDITION30. PUR, based on the G 280 CDI of the G 461 series. Here the G-Class declares its purpose as a true rough terrain vehicle. It comes with 265/75 R 16 tires on aluminum wheels. It also has a walk-on bonnet for climbing onto the roof and protective grills for the lights.


And since the model's release back in 1979 Mercedes has sold about 200,000 units of the terribly un-stylish G-Class. Not necessarily an impressive number.

But the G-Class is special and has its distinguishing traits that make it somewhat of a classic. For one thing, it's the Pope's car. It's won the Paris-Dakar rally and it is the longest-serving model in Mercedes-Benz's history.

To commemorate the 30th anniversary, Mercedes will be issuing two special editions of the G-Class.


The EDITION30.PUR comes with a price tag of 59,381 euros. The EDITION30 comes in at 97,461 euros.

Both models are available from Mercedes-Benz dealers as of mid-February.


The second is the EDITION30, based on the G 500 model of the G 463 series and is a long wheelbase variant. This is the more delicate of the two, designed for comfort and style. It comes with a platinum black paint finish, light-alloy wheels and "chablis" leather color on the inside with anthracite poplar wood trimming the cabin.
